What is it to be Responsibly Healthy? The word Responsibility itself has in it a hidden meaning which holds the key to what it takes to achieve overall health and happiness. Take a journey with me and let’s explore this hidden meaning.
Realization: the first key is achieving a level of understanding and complete realization that you are in fact responsible for your own health and happiness. Regardless of what has happened up until this point in your life, it is up to you to heal and reclaim your power.

Embrace life: living in each moment and embracing the gifts that each moment offers brings peace and greatly contributes to our overall health and happiness.

Self esteem: how you feel about yourself and your ability to achieve your goals and desires in life will determine your choices, which will in turn steer the course of your life and contribute to or diminish your overall health and happiness.
“It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be?” ~ Marianne Williamson
Purpose: it is our responsibility to find out what our unique purpose in life is meant to be, for without it we will not be able to achieve a level of fulfillment that brings us joy and in turn determines our overall level of health and happiness.

Open: and heal your heart; a wounded and unhealed heart puts up walls not allowing in all of the wonder and joy that love of self, love of others and being loved has to offer. This creates dis-ease in the body as love is our natural state.

Nutrition: feed your body and mind well; the food we put into our bodies (healthy or toxic), and the thoughts we think (positive or negative) will determine our overall physical and emotional health. This in turn will add or subtract from our level of health and happiness.

Spirituality: knowing who you are and having a strong connection with your inner self has an all encompassing effect on how you live your life. Our outer world is a reflection of our inner world. Health and happiness start from the inside out.

Integrity: living a life that is authentic and congruent with our values creates an inner sense of peace and harmony. Anything other than this will have a negative impact on our health and happiness.

Blame: to make others responsible for your feelings, actions, reactions, choices or circumstances in life is to give away your power as well as your ability the live a healthy and happy life.
“The best years of your life are the ones in which you decide your problems are your own. You don’t blame them on your mother, the ecology, or the president. You realize that you control your destiny.” ~ Albert Ellis
It is not personal: how others treat us, react to us, or judge us in not about us. It is about them dumping on you their own negative karma. To believe them is to take away from your own sense of inner peace and create anxiety and dis-ease in your mind and body.

Love yourself: to love yourself is to open your heart to unconditional love, and create harmony within yourself and your relationships. This type of love is a vital ingredient to create a life of health and happiness.

I am authentic: living your life as who you really are, without masks, affords you the freedom the live a life free of lies, deception and apology. Showing up honestly; accepting your strengths and weaknesses takes courage and has a significant impact on your peace of mind and heart.

Today is a new beginning: with each day comes the gift of leaving the past behind and letting go of who we used to be and embracing who we want to become. Each new day comes bearing a gift of unlimited potential.

You are complete: there is nothing more that you need to make yourself more perfectly complete than you are in this moment. Practicing an attitude of gratitude for all of the gifts in your life opens up the doors for more good to enter, and ultimately more health and happiness.
