Smile

“Let us always meet each other with a smile, for the smile is the beginning of love.” Mother Teresa

A smile is something quite simple, it’s free, it’s easily achieved, yet so overlooked as something that can help make us or someone else feel better.

I have learned that a smile is truly the shortest distance between two people. Just notice how it makes you feel when someone smiles at you. It brightens your day, doesn’t it.

Take a look around you and see how many people have frowns on their faces. Their face isn’t saying hi, how are you, I see you, I acknowledge you, I’m happy today, I love life, that is not the warm and fuzzy feeling you get from them. If anything you may feel a bit uncomfortable and awkward.

Now think about when you smile, how good it makes you feel, how much nicer people are to you, how much kinder you are to others, how much better your day goes.

Of course I’m not saying paste on a fake smile all day long and your life will miraculously change. I am saying however that if you can find something to smile about, that it will go a long way in changing your mood, making you feel better, and change the way people feel around you.

This is a very simple exercise and over time it will greatly contribute to your level of happiness.

Today dig down, deep if you have to, and find something to smile about no matter where you are or what you are doing. Just notice the difference in yourself and others.

Have fun with it!
