In Memoriam, May 10, 1940 – August 29, 2015
Although the world has lost an amazing human being, Wayne Dyer’s legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of all those he has touched through his many books and spiritual teachings.
I believe he reached a level of conscious enlightenment that brought hope and inspiration to many a lost soul, myself included.
In his memory, I would like to share quotes from Wayne Dyer’s books that had the greatest impact on my journey of personal growth. My hope is that you will also find the incredible meaning and insight in these books.
From Staying on the Path
This is the first Wayne Dyer book I read, which now has been signed personally by Wayne. I am so very grateful.
“All of us are on our own paths, doing exactly what we know how to do at the moment, given the conditions of our lives.”
“Did you ever notice how difficult it is to argue with someone who is not obsessed with being right?”
“Your reputation is in the hands of others. That’s what a reputation is. You can’t control that. The only thing you can control is your character.”
“The highest form of ignorance is to reject something you know nothing about.”
“The only difference between a flower and a weed is a judgement.”
From You’ll See It When You Believe It
This book speaks volumes – read the book to fully grasp the meaning of this quote.
“You’ll see it when you believe it.”
From Wishes Fulfilled – Mastering the Art of Manifesting
“I have a burning desire—an inner flame that will not be extinguished by outer forces—to know and live from higher regions, to be transformed so that my new concept of myself will no longer include any limitations. I am willing to challenge and change any thoughts that impede my having a higher vision of myself.”
From Inspiration – Your Ultimate Calling
“Remember that our desires will not arrive by our schedule. If you really want to make God laugh, tell Him your plans.”
“Our purpose in life isn’t to arrive at a destination where we find inspiration, just as the purpose of dancing isn’t to end up at a particular spot on the floor. The purpose of dancing – and of life – is to enjoy every moment and every step, regardless of where we are when the music ends.”
From Excuses Begone! – How to Change Lifelong, Self-Defeating Thinking Habits
Please read, this list is only a small fraction of the wisdom contained in this book.
“How people treat you is their karma; how you react is yours.”
“Change the way you look at things and the things you look at change.”
“When you judge another, you do not define them, you define yourself.”
“You cannot be lonely if you like the person you’re alone with.”
“When the choice is to be right or to be kind, always make the choice that brings peace”
“Circumstances do not make a man, they reveal him.”
“You cannot always control what goes on outside. But you can always control what goes on inside.”
“What comes out of you when you are squeezed is what is inside of you.”
“You get treated in life the way you teach people to treat you.”
From Change Your Thoughts – Change Your Life
“Focus on understanding yourself instead of blaming others.”
“If you realize that you have enough, you are truly rich.”
From The Shift – Taking your Life from Ambition to Meaning
This book has been made into a movie which I have watched many times. Do yourself a favour and watch it:
“If you’re experiencing scarcity, anguish, depression, an absence of love, or any inability to attract what you desire, seriously look at how you’ve been attracting these circumstances into your life.”
“That which offends you only weakens you.”
“Change the way you look at things and the things you look at change.”
“Our lives are a sum total of the choices we have made.”
From Your Sacred Self – Making the Decision to Be Free
“When you seek happiness for yourself it will always elude you. When you seek happiness for others you will find it yourself.”
“The antidote to fear is faith.”
From Your Erroneous Zones
“With death so endless a proposition and life so breathtakingly brief, ask yourself, “Should I avoid doing the things I really want to do?” “Should I live my life as others want me to?”
“Are things important to accumulate?” “Is putting it off the way to live?” Chances are your answers can be summed up in a few words: Live… Be You… Enjoy… Love.”
From I Can See Clearly Now
“As I come to the end of looking back at my life up until now, I’m grateful to have been able to see so much more clearly how and why so many of the events, circumstances, and teachers showed up to guide me on this path of self-discovery. All my life I wanted to feel the excitement of being a person who would and could make a difference in this world.”
I believe he succeeded.
Thank you Wayne Dyer, may you rest in eternal peace.
