“All of us are on our own paths, doing exactly what we know how to do at the moment, given the conditions of our lives.” ~Wayne Dyer
“When you have the choice between being right and being kind, just choose kind.” ~Wayne Dyer
“Only insecure people need security. Secure people know that there’s no such thing. Security comes from within, when you know you can handle anything.” ~Wayne Dyer
“Give up the want; know that you do not need one more thing to make yourself complete, and then watch all those external things become less and less significant in your heart.” ~Wayne Dyer
“Looking into the mirror and disliking the self that you take with you everywhere you go is one of the most self-defeating things you can do.” ~Wayne Dyer
We are all on a path, and our path is determined by the choices we make. We were born into circumstances and experiences and, ultimately, it becomes our choice in what we make of those circumstances and experiences.
Back over a decade ago, when I was going through a very difficult and challenging time in my life, I came across a book by Dr. Wayne Dyer called Staying on the Path. All of the quotes above come from this book: its 198 pages are filled with equally meaningful pieces of wisdom.
At the time I really didn’t have any idea of the concept of being on a “Path” but I was drawn to this book somehow knowing it would help me. And I was right.
My intuition led me to this book and many more books beside (some of which were written by Wayne Dyer) that have influenced what I can now call “my path”.
My path has been one towards healing, self-discovery, finding inner peace and becoming an embodiment of the healing power of love. I have truly come to realize my path is all about finding the truth; the truth of why we are here, what our purpose is and how love is all that really matters. All of my life experiences have pointed me in the direction of my path.
Last Thursday evening I was blessed to have the opportunity to meet a man who has become such a powerful influence in my life and the path I have chosen. Hearing him speak live truly was a surreal and blessed moment in my life. I cannot even begin to explain the energy I felt being so close to him. He emanates what I can only describe as pure peace and love.
His entire talk was amazing to say the least. There was, however, one thing in particular that stood out for me. He held up an orange and asked us to imagine squeezing the orange until the juice came out. He then asked us what kind the juice would be—apple? pineapple?
Of course it would be orange juice because that was what was inside. He then went on to explain this analogy. When we are squeezed, what will come out is what is inside us.
I reflected on this idea and how it related to my own life. I recalled many times in my past when I was squeezed and what came out was anger, fear, jealousy, resentment, or self-hatred to name a few. You get the gist.
I then reflected back on the week I had just experienced.
During this week, I was being squeezed very tightly indeed. And during this time what came out was understanding, compassion, love, and forgiveness. Of course I was upset! But I did not react to my upset feelings. Instead, I chose to find a way towards love. In that brief moment of reflection I realized how far I have come on my path and felt a sense of peace in knowing my path has been the right one for me because it has changed what is inside.
I am eternally grateful to Wayne Dyer and that fateful day when I picked up his book, which you can see in my hand in one of the pictures. Of all his books I could have chosen for him to sign, I chose the one that started me on my path. You can also see him holding my own book that I gave to him as a gift. It is symbolic of his teachings and what they allowed me to manifest and create in my own life.
If your path is taking you towards becoming better—more loving, kinder, forgiving, understanding, compassionate and generous of heart, then you know you are on the right path.Click here to schedule your free call with Gina.
